This pen was made from remaining rod stock from two separate colorways - our craft Indigo and Craft ink lines. Which incorporate genuine indigo dye and hand-ground Sumi in the blue and black parts. Respectively.
“Mottainai” is a Japanese phrase that means roughly ‘don't be wasteful’ or ‘waste not want not.’ it's a phrase that you will hear often in Japan if you don't use as much of what you have as you can. Because every batch of our craft resins is unique and the intensity of colors and ratio of marbling shifts, these parts would have never had a true mate. We decided to not be wasteful and introduce them to their new found family in this lovely black and blue pen.
