This pocket pen made from our in-house Craft Indigo resin has been specially made to accommodate a reclaimed 14k H-F nib from a Sailor 1911S. H-F is an older designation which means ‘Hard Fine,’ showing the age of the nib is from when sailor also regularly produced soft nibs, meaning it was likely made in 1998 or earlier. We have tuned and adjusted the nib and it is a wonderful writer with good ink flow and the characteristic pencil-like feedback that Sailor nibs are known for.
As the size of the nib unit and the sailor cartridges is different than our usual International Standard nib units, but the nib itself is shorter than the Jowo #6 nibs we use, the barrel has been lengthened and the cap shortened in comparison to our usual models of the Ikimasho pocket pen - though the final length of the pen when capped and posted is largely the same in length.
While this pen will accept sailor cartridges without any issue, it will not fit sailor converters. We recommend using Sailor refillable cartridges if you intend tot use bottled ink.
Caution:
The Sailor nib unit in this pen is not removable, it is permanently affixed to the section of the pen. It is possible to swap the nib with an identical sailor nib as the nib and feed are friction-fit into the nib unit.
Technical specs:
Length (capped): 106.5 mm
Length (posted): 115.5 mm
Length (unposted): 74.5 mm
Section length: 23.25 mm
Section diameter: 12.9 → 10.8 → 11.9 mm
Max diameter of pen: 18.10 mm
Nib unit: 14k Sailor H-F (reclaimed)
Converter accepted: None. Accepts genuine sailor cartridges exclusively (including sailor brand refillable cartridges)
